As Ransomware increases in both frequency and virulence, security software must evolve alongside it. We are pleased to announce that we have partnered with a leading security vendor to replace our current antivirus (AV) with a robust and innovative endpoint solution.
Traditional AV is signature-based, meaning that when it identifies a perceived threat to your network, it’s compared against the database of existing viruses. In other words, it tracks and protects against known threats. This approach has failed to match the pace of emerging malware and evasion techniques.
Next-generation AV is behavior-based, which means that it evaluates a perceived threat based on its behavior patterns. This approach is much more effective in today’s environment because it analyzes an object’s “intent,” or potential behavior.
Another benefit to implementing this new solution is that it integrates completely with our managed firewall to create a unified and fortified platform that delivers substantial endpoint protection capabilities as well as forensic reporting.
We are deploying this new solution in a test group currently and will proceed with deployment to all managed clients on a waterfall schedule after that.
